i'm trying to find this cartoon that i loved when i was little and i can't remember the damn title.

what i remember of it is that it starts off as a real movie and it's about this little boy. he has a red car, not a little toy car, but an actual car, and with the help of that car he somehow ends up in an animated world. and in this world there's two kingdoms, the kingdom of words and the kingdom of numbers and they're constantly at war over which is more important; numbers or words. and i remember seeing it on cartoon network, if that helps.

do any of you play any instrument or sing? if yes, what exctly was your motivation for starting? wanting to make money? to become famous? to create something new and unique no one's ever heard before? to sell millions of cd's and go on huge arena tours?

i'm pretty sure your first motivation wasn't any of that. i'm pretty sure you started playing/singing because you heard something someone else did and it seemed fun and you loved doing it. am i right? at least a little? yeah?

then why is it so different in the case of ryan ross and jon walker? are they not allowed to do something that makes them happy and they love playing even though it's nothing new and might not even be liricaly or musicaly good? since when exactly does playing music mean that it has to be perfect and make lots of money? that it has to sound the right way so people will like it and come see you play? is it not enough that you just fucking love doing it even if no one else is gonna like it or it isn't going to sell one single cd?

if it's not then... wow are we in big trouble.

music is a medium that allows you to express yourself in any way you please. you can make it awesome, you can make it bad, you can make it have a meaning, you can make it to make no sense at all. the only thing it's uniformly supposed to do is make you feel. happy, sad, high on life, whatever. so why the fuck are so many people trying to put labels on it all the damn time?

i really like it. it may not be anything groundbreakingly new or original, but i like it. yup.

i think it's just, all of these people have this idea of ryan trying to make it big with this new band and trying to reach panic status again but like with as he says better music. and like, firstly, he's never said that tyv are better than patd or that their new stuff better than their old cd's. he said that this music suits him and jon more than the old stuff did. he also didn't say that the old stuff is shit, but that they're different now, so they like different things. he's not claiming to be better than spencer and brendon, just that all of this is better for him. secondly, i don't think ryan wants to be panic famous again. i really don't think he's gonna care if they get signed by a unknown label and just play clubs for the rest of his life, as long as he actually gets to play what he wants. and thirdly, just because he doesn't tweet pete and bden and spence or there aren't any pictures of them togheter, that doesn't mean they don't talk at all and are suddenly mortal enemies. all of this is just people 1. not being able to see things objectively, 2. people interpreting things in a way that wasn't actually meant and 3. having this insane image that someone recording an album and wanting to play shows automaticaly means they're trying to get famous. obviously no one makes music just for the sake of making music anymore.
he doesn't want to be better than patd, he's not trying to be the next beatles, he's not claiming he made anything new and revolutional, he's just doing what he loves and feels right for him. people need to get off his fucking case already.

it's ryan/jon transgender fic, with ryan changing from male to female and just. <33333333!!!!
i dunno if that's your thing or not, but it's just, amazing and i needed to share it with you guys. even if it's not a thing you generally like to read about, it's adorable and just, jon is sosososo cute in it and ryan and just, guh. give it a chance, really. i guarantee you won't regret it.

so like. a few moths back we were told that in order to pass first year and enrole into the second you had to pass all of the obligatory exams and an elective in each of the programmes (i study translating interpreting english and german and those are seperate programes or howerver you wanna call them). and i passed both of my electives for english (big surprise there) and none of my german ones yet. and those are what worry me the most, not the 3 obligatory ones i have left, because these 'electives' (i say 'electives' because we didn't get to choose them, we had options at first, but they could't find professors in time so we were all stuck having the same ones) are international organisations and basics of corporate law. and like. dude. any kind of law? so not my thing, jesus. and the international organisations one should have been easy, only i've taken the exam 3 times already and still don't know what i'm doing wrong. (just fyi, the english electives were intro to drama in theatre and reading literature and other texts in english. easiest 10's (A's) i've ever made.)

and well, now. after weeks of worrying and being nervous and studying, i find on the internet that apparently you don't even need electives to get into second year. i'm going to go check tomorrow, cause i have the international organisations exam at 10 and what the hell, i studied for it so i'm taking it. but if it is true... that's... partially a good thing because i'm still not convinced that i'll pass the exam tomorrow, but fuck, COULDN'T YOU HAVE TOLD ME THIS EARLIER?!?!?!?!
